Unintentional Comedy?
Sometimes I wonder just how much the government doesn't get it:
White House to vets: VA health care safe from reform
In a last-minute effort to calm the nerves of skeptical military veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs said Thursday night that its health care system would remain untouched by ongoing reform efforts.
It's hard to tell if they're just trying to ease worries that this boondoggle won't hurt veterans too, or if they really think it sounds wonderful that the current VA boondoggle won't be fixed.
That's not to say that this bill does much more than fix some populist insurance issues while leaving all of the problematic government and private systems and cost nightmares for most of America overwhelmingly unaddressed. People want health care reform, not some bill that fixes some tangential issues that just has "health care reform" in the title. It's getting surreal.
